Organically grown and designed close to nature

Located directly on the Ilmenau River, an approximately 18-hectare spa park surrounds the spa centre, the Ilmenau River and the Rosenbad outdoor pool, and is home to the Jod-Sole-Therme and the Kurhauswhich opened in 2016 and presents itself as modern, sophisticated and sustainable. You will find a varied cultural programme there all year round, as well as various health and relaxation offers.

The park was not planned and designed from the outset as an artificial park, but grew organically and was designed close to nature in large parts. The extensive green zone with its old trees connects the old town in the west with the park and offers many quiet zones and merges into the floodplain landscape along the Ilmenau.

Beautifully situated by the lily ponds are a number of wooden benches and loungers - they can be easily adjusted according to the position of the sun and are the right place for a relaxing sunbath. The natural Kneipp water treading facility juts directly into the Ilmenau and provides wonderful cooling, especially in summer.
